Keep in mind that a company experienced in performing AV installations is not always qualified to design, install, and program a successful integration system! This takes years of experience. Inquire about what types and how many integrated installs they have completed.

Make sure the firm you choose has people on staff performing Computer Assisted Design (CAD) work. This will allow seamless translation of your construction documents between architects, engineers, designers, electricians and your AV firm. It will also allow for changes and as-builds to be expedited.

Look for companies that have programmers on staff. Companies who outsource this critical component of the project may not be able to respond to problems or execute changes when they arise. This is a critical factor when making your selection.

Many firms may perform well under ideal conditions. The best sources of information during your selection process are through client or professional referrals.

In addition, what happens after the installation is very important. There are small firms that do good work but once a project is complete they are on to the next project. Service needs of previously completed projects may not get the proper treatment they deserve. Know how service needs are met.
