Mythology:
The often heard refrain is “…you can buy it for
less on the Internet!”. Upon reflection, it may be quite the
contrary. After factoring in professional installation costs (assuming
you can find a reputable firm to install these goods), the possibility
of grey goods, delivery charges (to the “curb” if living
in an apartment building) and phantom or no warranty the Internet
prices become less attractive and in fact may become more expensive.
It is easy to “post a product and a price” on the net.
Delivery of professionally installed manufacturer protected products
are something else. In the language spoken well before Al Gore invented
the Internet “Caveat emptor” (buyer beware).
Be certain from whom you make significant purchases and what those
purchases include!
