Lighting Control Systems (LCS):
Convenient, intelligent, and sophisticated control of your home’s interior, exterior, and natural lighting. There are two functions of a typical lighting control system. One is to reduce clutter on a wall that has 4 or more lighting switches and second, to control all of the lights throughout the residence.

Controls may be programmed so that preset pathways or moods, dimming, and on / off may be effectuated by a touch of a button or based upon time of day. For example, a “Home” button may be programmed so that upon arriving at home all hallway lights from the garage to the kitchen and the front door to the bedrooms go on to ensure that the pathway is lit upon entering the home. These pathways may be developed after review of the floor plan and electrical drawings. The key is that no one need ever enter a dark house again!

In both new construction and retro-fit projects, lighting control systems may be easily and expertly installed for you and your family to enjoy the full power and advanced control of these systems. Breakthroughs in wireless technology have made this possible with or without extensive pre-wiring.

Integrate the lighting system with the security system for additional safety. By programming lighting paths to doors and exits should the fire alarm be triggered, you and your family may reach safety more quickly.

Lighting Control System (LCS)

An important part of many integration projects is the whole house LCS. By installing a LCS you will be able to control all lighting circuits that have been connected to processors, dimmers or panels.

A Lutron keypad or Crestron touch panel can control all of the lights in a single area but can also be programmed to control any other part of the home as well. It is simple to use and incredibly practical. Enter the house - press one button – and designated lights throughout the residence will create a pathway for you. When you leave, you press another button to turn off all designated lights.

Display lights that have been left on in the residence in a graphical manner. Yoy may see that the living room and dinning room lights have been left on and turn them off with ease - from the comfort of your bedroom! Allows you to monitor and turn on / off lighting in any room or on any floor with a touch of a "bulb" on the graphically displayed "floor plan". Touch a "key pad" on the plan to get more individual control of lighting in a specific area. In the example, the "key pad" in the Family room is available to set a mood or control a specific light - again, from any where in the residence!

The Lighting Control and Dimming for the Residence will be a “state of the art” subsystem. Faceplate colors, plate styles, and button labeling will be in harmony with the interior design and esthetics of each of the associated decors. Throughout the Residence, we can place “Master Keypads” that will allow you and your guests to control scenes, pathways of lighting, and individual load controls in a simple and intuitive way. These keypads are custom designed, engraved, and programmed based upon your wishes and future needs.

Many architects are specifying LCS in the design of their new home projects. It is a natural for the control of lighting in residences 5,000 sq. and larger. Not only can control of lighting inside of the residence be achieved but also site lighting can be managed as well. Lighting control systems are easily integrated into house wide systems.



Wireless applications (Radio Frequency)

Historically requiring extensive pre-wiring, these systems have been included in new construction projects because of what sophisticated lighting controls add to luxury homes. The HomeServe products from Lutron utilize an exclusive radio frequency (RF) communications channel to eliminate the pre-wire requirement. This introduces the full power and advanced control options to all homeowners regardless or the home’s age, the type of lighting or the type of control needed.

We work closely with Lighting Designers who may be on your project in terms of load calculations, fixture placement, and individual device specifications throughout the project. In addition, we will assist in providing all Electrical Design related tasks regarding service sizing, power distribution, and design/layout of all electrical related rooms and mechanical spaces.



Security

Lighting control systems afford you the convenience and security you require. In any emergency every light in and around the house may be turned on making it easier for authorities to find your location. In addition, you will never have to return to a dark home again. How many times have you walked into a dark home and heard a noise. It’s a bit unsettling, but having the residence and site illuminated before you enter will afford a greater sense of security. A touch of your car visor remote will turn on lights at key entry points throughout the house and outside each entrance. Turn lights on or off, set scenes, turn Vacation Mode on or off or activate garage doors and gates with the touch of a button – from the comfort and safety of the car.

Energy Efficient

Lutron has committed to the design and manufacture of systems that contribute to energy efficient projects. In fact, they are a national member of the United Sates Green Building Council and other organization committed to efficient use of our energy resources. Through their commitment we are able to design and program systems to automatically reduce consumption resulting in fuel efficiencies and cost savings. Lutron's statistics reflect a 20% 25% reduction in lighting energy consumption.

With proper design, installation, and programming the LCS may be used to turn lights on and off based upon the time of day or time of year. A built in astronomical clock allows you to program lights to come on at dusk or dawn no matter the time of year thus ensuring lights are not burning when not needed. Presets allow you to limit how bright your lights may be made or ensure that lights in various areas of the house are turned off at certain times to conserve energy. Based upon your lifestyle the system may be “taught” to prepare for end of the day by shutting all lights and bringing up scenes or pathways in various areas of the house, thus conserving energy.

Couple this with smart thermostats that may be programmed to adjust temperatures in various rooms based upon time of day and season and you have a very environment friendly system. Click for details
